Sukiya Sukiya

These days, Sukiya is the undisputed king of the Gyudon in Yoshinoya’s backyard. Surprising given the continued excellence, well at least business excellence, of Yoshinoya. With Sukiya launched in 1982, Yoshinoya had almost a century headstart on them. Yoshinoya had the scale, the real estate and the brand name recognition against Sukiya’s, well, nothing. Without any major failings (well, besides that whole USA bankruptcy ordeal), how exactly did this upstart take over?
